To not revere

What I’ve learned from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes is that some higher-ranked practitioners took the time to teach me how to make them submit/tap out. They did so without ego, offering clear explanations. This made me feel capable and included, even though I could barely keep up with them. I felt incredibly safe despite being surrounded by power and strength. In general, I tend to look up to people who have their ego in check. Apparently, choosing one’s own well-being and that of others is possible, even if it means enduring discomfort or setting aside the ego at times. This is what I need to learn more, step by step.
