Two box braids loose, possibly the width of my first loc.
Same possible first loc, with shrinkage, yet stretched because of the box braids and brushing. My hair looks longer when I hold it. I created 4 braids from 8 smaller braids, so the first row is done. When I do the second to the sixth rows and let out the bangs, I can part the locs more precisely. When everything is parted, I’ll consider my options to lighten each section. Maybe an application for the new growth and a cool toner on the ends first, and maybe gradually lighten one row at a time with a very low developer (maybe 20). I’ll test it first, then start by applying to the first row and then the second, etc. But I need a clearer plan to feel secure to try this step by step. Patience, knowledge, and experience are most important for me in this process. Fortunately there is a lot of information out there. Or leave the new growth over to a pro for >€500πŸ₯²(per new growth, so €500 every 1 or 2 years).
