I felt excited, proud and a little distraught to put one step outside. I put my bath robe and slippers, grabbed my keys, put one step outside, walked down stairs and sat on one of the steps. Looked at my neighborhood, took few deep breaths. Smiled back at two people passing by. Went back in.

This reminds me of how present I used to be when I was a <11. It also reminds me of how present I was when stayed at my mothers house, in the summer of 2018 in Hoorn. I’d put on a dress, walk to the IJsselmeer, run into the lake, swim, dry up in the sun and walk back.
